Alumni
It is with great pride that we present some of our alumni.
They are our philosophy in action and are continuing to build on the foundations laid down over their years at Ambleside.

2021 - registered for BEd Foundation Phase : Varsity College CT
I was at ASHB from 2014 until I matriculated in 2018. During my time at the school, I experienced incredible growth - emotionally and spiritually. The small and intimate environment, combined with the teachers deliberate focus on each child contributes to such growth.
The teachers support students not only academically, but also personally which makes a student feel secure and not just like a number. My time at ASHB has helped to prepare me to deal with life's challenges confidently, and has given me a good spiritual foundation to help me make wise and Godly decisions. I have fond memories of my time spent at ASHB and am grateful for the opportunity to have been at the school.

Architecture, Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT)
I completed my Matric in 2015. I was quiet and reserved when I first arrived at Ambleside School of Hout Bay but soon opened up and became a voice to be heard!
I am so appreciative of the wonderful stage productions that I took part in during my time at Ambleside. These cultural experiences helped me to gain confidence and the ability to express myself. I am currently a third-year Architecture student and could not see myself anywhere else.
Having family members in the architectural, art and engineering fields, I feel it is in my blood! I made good and close friends at school and still keep in touch. I want to specialise in designing eco-friendly and tiny homes. I hope to see my designs all around Cape Town and beyond!

Professional Swimmer
My Ambleside story began in 2005 when I joined the Grade 1 class. One would usually say that it ended when I matriculated in 2016, but the effect of this kind of school on your life never really fades.
My appreciation for the school lies chiefly in who I became over that time and the relationships I built. Each person has helped me learn more about myself: from my fellow classmates, students and teachers; to coaches, mentors, parents and sister.
When I started at the school I had very little self-esteem. I was once overweight, shy and insecure. However, at Ambleside, where the focus is on building character, fostering good relationships and developing habits for a full life; I was able to overcome those difficulties.
On graduating Matric in 2016 I started a successful waterless carwash business at Earthworx in Hout Bay. Leaving my business in capable hands, I moved to the States on a sports scholarship in 2018 where I am currently studying Media and Marketing at Union College in Kentucky. As a professional swimmer, I have my sights set on competing at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
I attribute my success to the personal growth and development I experienced at Ambleside and I look forward to what the future holds.
